SIMON

Ever the late-developer, Simon had to wait until he was twenty for his first chance to perform in public.  Since then, he has clocked-up hundreds of gigs, including several appearances at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool, as well as shows further afield in Germany, Holland and France. The last twenty-plus years has seen him playing bass guitar and singing in a variety of bands, spanning rock, folk and ska.  His own band, Garfields Birthday, are much-acclaimed in the power-pop world and recently released their third album.

Simon has also released five acclaimed albums as a solo artist - two of them recorded with Californian pop guru Anton Barbeau and West Country psych-legend Alan Strawbridge, brimming with "bulletproof pop sensibility and signature self-deprecating wit" (Shindig!).  All the while he continues to run the much-respected and truly independent record label Pink Hedgehog, prompting American music-writer Ronnie Dannelley to call him "a true renaissance man of power pop"!
